About these figures
Notes on the IEC's figures for this page
Votes cast 1 480 595 · spoilt 18 409 · special votes 26 395 · All 3 065 voting districts in · the IEC marks the results complete · turnout calculated as votes cast ÷ registered voters, because the IEC's published turnout (2.92%) doesn't match its own figures
The change beside the headline is the difference between the leading party's share here and its share in the 2009 election for the same province, both from the IEC's counts, with no votes re-allocated between boundaries.
Total is the sum of the seats the IEC allocated to parties.
Note: the IEC's published turnout (2.92%) does not match its own figures (1480595 votes cast of 2438280 registered = 60.72%); we show the calculated figure.
Percentages are calculated from the IEC's vote counts. Official results: results.elections.org.za.
Map boundaries: Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB) and the IEC.
