About these figures

Notes on the IEC's figures for this page

Votes cast 3 553 098 · spoilt 48 735 · special votes 131 070 · All 1 957 voting districts in · the IEC marks the results complete

The change beside the headline is the difference between the leading party's share here and its share in the 1999 election for the same province, both from the IEC's counts, with no votes re-allocated between boundaries.

Total is the sum of the seats the IEC allocated to parties.

Note: Kungwini: the IEC lists every party twice (identical rows: same party, ballot and votes) for this municipality; each is counted once, and the parties then add up to the IEC's TotalValidVotes.

Note: Merafong City: the IEC lists every party twice (identical rows: same party, ballot and votes) for this municipality; each is counted once, and the parties then add up to the IEC's TotalValidVotes.

Note: Tshwane Metro: the IEC lists every party twice (identical rows: same party, ballot and votes) for this municipality; each is counted once, and the parties then add up to the IEC's TotalValidVotes.
